On this day, "The Kid at the Back", a dark thriller Visual Novel made by fantasia_kitt was released a year ago.
Hello! Fantasia here, with a quick devlog.
First and foremost, Happy Anniversary 'The Kid at the Back'! I did not expect my very first visual novel to get this much recognition and up until now I am still not used to the attention, it just feels really baffling! I would like to thank everyone who has been there from the very start, pre-rewrite and post-rewrite, to my friends who enjoyed my content, to my editor and my beloved co-writer (and number one Crowe simp).
On to business, I've been thinking it quite a while and I've decided with how I will be publishing the next 5 days, this might come as sad news to some but this is for my own mental health and that I don't feel pressured to update my game every time but I will be releasing days 3-7 in one MAJOR update.
Yes, I won't be releasing it by 2 days with day 7 being the last, I'll be developing the game up until the last day so please do not expect an update for next coming months whatsoever because I will be focusing on writing and polishing my script with my editor (give me a year or two idk).
Again, I will be publishing the next update as COMPLETE DAYS 1-7.
However, you are able to see some of my progress if you're a Soulmate in my patreon so do check it out if you want to see what I've been cooking (but none for now since I'm on my hiatus!).
Next is that I'll be making some short mini games based on TKaTB, they're not canon to the real universe, if I feel like making a spin-off then I will make them, don't be surprised if I just randomly dropped a short gag VN since it is also part of my experimentation with renpy.

Good afternoon, I played both of your games and I really liked them.

Also, I have an idea about how a certain choice could be continued.
(this is purely a fan performance, I donβt claim anything)
When we find a dead person Crow,Instead attacking with Solivana,We can choose to forgive him, and he cries, and then we remove the evidence of the murder together and go into the river to wash the blood off Sol's face.
Then we leave and go back to Sol's house and spend time together
Also the 2nd part of this choice, we forgive Sol but run away from the place where we were, leaving him alone, saying that we need time.
Also, we can have a 3rd branch of this branch, instead of attacking, we run away from the sol into the forest and run through the forest into the river, because we think that the sol poses a threat to us.
We are crossing the rocks and Sol decided to swim after us, but the river current is relatively strong, and we have 3 forks,
1. Run away and leave Sol in the river
2. We watch the straw, but we donβt run away.
3. We decide to help the salt and help him get out of the water.
With the 1st choice we learn about Sol's death.
In the second choice we can either help him or watch him be carried away by the river.
At 3 we help Sol to get out, but because of our smaller body mass the river wants to carry us away, and Sol helps us get back out.
(this is fan fiction, don't take it too seriously)
Also, during lunch we could choose the option not to drink juice from a glass and spend time with a straw, watching a romantic series, well, to your taste.
Also, we could come up with new deaths for a specific participant that Sol kills, and it would be different.

Hello! I'm interested with the full game + NSFW one, I've tried the demo for a bit but I stop playing because I want the full experience. I notice your game is not listed on Steam. Will there be any plan ever releasing it on Steam too? I love this game smm it's always in the back of my mind ever since the first demo. I love the story, characters and I'm a sucker for yanderes and past lives so I loved all the times I played and replayed the demo! I seriously love the world and story you're putting together and hope you take as long as you need with it!
Kinda embarrassing, but I just had a nightmare that Sol was changed to the antagonist and he couldn't be romanced anymore π so my first instinct was to check the page ig π§π»ββοΈπ³οΈ

Oh thank god I'm not just crazy- and the Sethos thing bc he kinda has that dog-ish energy, tan sorta skin, radioactive looking green eyes, and the way he talks abt Geo reminds me of the sorta admiring friendly way Sethos talks about Wanderer
I loved it! I'm still trying to finish my albums (I need 1 more CGI) and seeing all the endings is amazing and I love it! Please do not rush yourself making any updates that may be coming up, take care<3!
This game was so amazing, I loved every bit of it and can't wait for the full release :D I'll pay anything to play the full thing honestly. The art, music, and storyline are all amazing. Thank you, Fantasia and all others who've helped with it, it's really the best.

TAKE YOUR TIME!!! Although I feel sad the full game won't be released for a while, at least we're getting anything at all! Watching the process is a fun part of it too. Please take your time, take breaks, and stay healthy. This game is not as important as you are. You don't owe anybody anything, 'kay? <3

tbh i don't really care when it's released, you can take your sweet time as long as it's not dropped, more time meaning better code-better game! plus it's better to take time than put a strain on your mental health, hope you have an amazing rest of the day and year.
